Ai in Emergency Medicine Certification Program 2027

The goal of the program is to provide emergency medicine clinicians with an immersive educational, research, and collaborative experience with fellow academic emergency medicine colleagues interested in using and creating AI systems to elevate patient care.

Participants will leave with relevant AI knowledge and vibe coding skills, and a project plan needed to lead an AI implementation effort in their own department or health system.

2027 Program

April 15-16, 2027 - Paris, France
AI in Emergency Medicine Fundamentals Course

  • Develop hands-on skills to critically evaluate, safely integrate, and supervise AI technologies in the emergency and acute care settings.

  • Build practical competence in clinical AI fundamentals, governance, and real-world applications that improve workflow, safety, quality, and operational performance.

  • Network with academic emergency physicians specializing in AI

May 3-13, 2027 - Boston, USA
AI in Emergency Medicine Certificate Program

  • 9-day small group workshop in Boston with BIDMC AI Division faculty and department leadership

  • Topics include

    • Lectures from clinical AI experts who have deployed AI systems in their departments  

    • Interactive workshops teaching vibe coding with clinical data

    • Shadowing session to see AI tools deployed in the emergency department in real-time

  • Hands-on project development

    • Cohort hackathon of new emergency department AI tools with the goal of publication-ready prototypes by end of the experience

    • Mentorship program designed to aid participants in developing an AI project for his or her home department

May 18-21, 2027 - San Francisco, USA
Society of Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM) Conference

  • Travel with the BIDMC AI Division and EM Research Division to SAEM

  • Participate in research activities and research networking events.

  • Forge academic EM AI relationships and collaboration opportunities
